Yoga - Building up Core Strength
A common reason for beginners especially women is lack of upper body strength.
Another is lack of core strength. I am one of them. =(
What is core strength ? All of our movements are powered by our torsos. The abs and back work together to support the spine when we sit, stand, bend over, pick things up, exercise and more. The torso is the body's center of power. This is what we called core strength.
These few weeks, my yoga classes are more focus on buiding up core strength. We always do some core-stabilizing poses and stretches. We hold each core pose for 5 breaths to lift up our legs to 15 degrees, 30 degrees, 45 degrees and 90 degrees.
Oh my Godness, I felt my legs were shaking and my stomach was pain. The beads of sweat roll down my face. I was very tired every time after the core strength training yoga classes.
One of the benefits for core strength training is flatten our stomach and have a nice waist. Besides, with a strong core strength we can able to challenge some interesting & complicated yoga pose and reduce the risk of injury.
No pain. No gain!
Thanks for dropping by my place.
Yoga looks really hard… but I’ve seen many people in Ipoh embracing Yoga real fast. There’s plenty of places to learn yoga.
Not for me though… maybe later. lol
Hi Helen,
Yoga looks hard initially. But once you start the practice frequently you will find it easier.
Cheers,
