Good luck to Dapheny
“I got one bad news for you. This shop has to close by next year January. There are only 2 months left.†My facial beautician, A said to me.
“What happened?†I got shocked.
“The owner of this shop lot needs to take back the shop and open her beauty saloon. The loan contract supposed to be ended by 2009. I just renovated this shop few months ago with RM20k. She didn’t want to return the money to me. RM20k is really a big amount. I want to sue her. But my lawyer said it is low possibility can win this case as the owner can terminate the loan contract anytime.†She told me sadly. Actually, I am not sure also on this kind of cases and I did not ask for the details on the contract.
“This shop is my baby. During these 3 years, I put a lot of efforts on this shop. I did everything from head to toes. Everyday I work from 9am till 10pm. I have gained the loyalties from customers and also have a little bit profit. And now, I have to close this shop.â€
She told me she may find her friends to partner with her or she may find another shop to re-open her beauty saloon. She still hasn’t made the decision yet.
This was really sad news for me. I have been support this Daphne Beauty Saloon, SS2 for almost 2 years. I like A’s good services and her facial treatment and body massage skills. Furthermore, the package that she offered to me is cheap, only RM48 per facial treatment.
I am not only her customer but I also treat her as my friend, so do her.
She told me one thing that I feel quite true.
“Only those people that know how to make profiteering from business can earn big money and stay long in this competitive business worldâ€
She told me that she will be strong and took this as an experience. She also feels happy and grateful that from this incident she knows who are the one who loyal to her and treat her good.
I hope she can find another location and re open her beauty saloon again. I will definitely support her. Good luck to her.

This is sad but not unheard of. Many times ppl rent out their places and when they see business thriving, they’ll take back and start their own business. The sad thing is, most won’t do as well because for a business to succeed, it takes more than just the shop.
I’m sorry to hear about your beautician’s plight. I got a dobi shop and hair saloon near my place which has the same problem when the owner decides to take back the place and try to cash in on the renters’ success.
keeyit || Sad hor.. They only see people earning big money BUT how about the hardwork that people have done no one can see…
How many years of contract she has with the landlord ? Did she locked the deal say longer term like 3-5 years ? It is sad when people do not honor contract.
Hi , glad to see that you are back and well again.
Cheers.
Jamy
keeyit || She told me the contract actually is until 2009. In details, I am not sure… Thanks for your regards..
Ohh the owner if evil. Too bad nothing much can be done.
keeyit || Yeah, the owner cannot see her doing well in business..
Hope she will get back in the business soon.
keeyit || yeah, i hope so too..
All the best to her. Hope she would find a better place for her up-coming business.
keeyit || yeah.. good luck to her..
Whether you like it or not, rich people will get richer whereas poor people will get poorer.
keeyit || Yeah.. sigh…
this is one of the risks of renting and the terms not rigidly spelt out.
u can blog abt her new location and help her by giving publicity n advertising.
keeyit || yeah, next time I will..
Rm48 per session is a good bargain… so sad to hear that. If she re-opens at other location, please update me…
keeyit || Ooo.. sure !!
good luck to ur beautician comes friend also
i understand how it feels to see things that u took years to bring it up and then being crush by another ppl and u can’t do anything but to see how it is destroy

Oh, too bad this sort of thing happen. Good luck to her anyway.
Good luck to her…
keeyit ||
same situation that happens to a cybercafe opposite my mums house…… the owner wanted to charge the cybercafe owner more rent because the cybercafe is successful…… the owner of the shop then decide to take it back and open own cybercafe…..
the cybercafe only started for a few months only and got chased out by the owner….
keeyit || Few months are still OK, that shop is operating for almost 3 years… 3 years really not a short time lo
I wish your friend, A, the best of luck for the future, and I am sure she will do better than before! Yes!! Can do wan! Hard work, but at least good work..
keeyit || Thanks for your regards.. I hope she re open her beauty saloon again !
Some landlord are not considerate at all. At least let your friend find a new place first.
keeyit || Yeah lor.. sigh…
With no offense I think the renter shouldn’t have that clause (owners can terminate anytime) in the contract. It’s such a silly deal, as far as I know rent deal can’t be revoked before the timeframe has elapsed. But again at the very least the renter can ask the landlord and inform about the renovation beforehand.
keeyit || Hmm yeah.. Just not so sure what really happened …
I hope your beautician has better days before her. always look to the stars and reach for the highest — the best is yet to come.
keeyit || I hope so too
