Ching Ming
For me, Ching Ming Festival is not only a day for remember our ancestors but also a day for a big family gathering beside Chinese New Year.
Last Sunday was a good day for Ching Ming. My whole family as well as all the relatives visited our ancestors graves. We brought a lot of prayer stuffs such as joss sticks, color papers, food, Chrysanthemum flowers and more. Food like roasted suckling pig, steamed chicken, fruits, biscuits, cakes, wine, tea were offered during the ceremony.
Let’s share with you all a joke that I heard from my aunties.
“Don’t buy car to us anymore. We already have a lot of cars in our house. You know we do not have money to pump petrol, to pay road tax and hire drivers. Burn more money for us.”
She dreamt that one of my ancestors telling her not to burn big car to him anymore this year. Every year we give him big car and his house already got many cars. But he does not have money to pump petrol and give road tax. Haha.. So this year, we bought many clothes and gave a lot of money to them.
Do you believe this? ![]()

wuah roast pork, roast pork!
keeyit || I know you love to eat le
wow… you guys had roast pork also…
we only had a RM30 siew yoke
keeyit || Every year also got a big roasted pork.. about RM400.. One of my uncle sponsored one..
u know, now can burn them a petrol station. If they got no money to pump petrol, burn them a petrol station so that they got unlimited petrol and at the same time can earn money with it. wuahahahhaha..
keeyit || yeah hor.. good idea JYS.. haha.. then they can earn money by supplying the petrol for others..
I also went Ching Ming yesterday. But I didn’t take any photos. Does taking photo shows disrespect to ancestors? My family will certainly blow my head if I do so.
keeyit || We took photos every year as memories.. So is ok I think..
I don’t believe in burning anything
Only contribute to pollution, and pity those trees

Just burn them a whole army equipped with those kick-ass weaponry.
Then they can take over and rule….

My family is now towards not burning much of these over these few years. I didn’t join for the Ching Ming this year. But normally what we have now is just simple dishes and pai pai. Not like got roast pork… which btw looks yummy…
